Operator Applied AI Engineer at Derivative Path

Designs, builds, and deploys LLM-powered features and agentic workflows for financial risk management platforms, bridging AI experimentation and production engineering.

Mid Hybrid Posted 4 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Who We Are

Derivative Path empowers institutions across the capital markets with innovative, AI-driven technology and expert advisory solutions. Our award-winning cloud platform supports banks, credit unions, private equity firms, hedge funds, asset managers, and insurance companies in managing interest rate, FX, and commodity risks, optimizing hedging strategies, and streamlining cross-border payments. With a client base spanning over 250 financial institutions and leading private equity firms, we deliver scalable solutions that enhance risk management and drive operational performance. Through strategic partnerships with Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, FNBO, Q2, and Jack Henry, we provide best-in-class capabilities to help clients achieve their financial objectives in an ever-evolving market.

With a team of seasoned professionals comprised of decades of industry experience, Derivative Path offers a flexible, hybrid work environment to its 125+ employees with the ability to work remotely in Canada. The Company is dedicated to building a diverse environment and has an unwavering commitment to creating a sense of belonging for all employees.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Applied AI Engineer to join the AI Lab team within DerivativeEDGE. Reporting to the AI Lab lead, you will work closely with Engineering, Product, and domain experts to design, build, and ship AI-powered features in a complex, high-stakes financial environment. This is a hands-on engineering role. You will move between experimentation and production, work through ambiguous problems, and deliver AI capabilities that real clients use. Generic approaches do not get you far here. The expectation is that you learn the domain, move with urgency, and build things that hold up. The core of this role sits at the intersection of Generative AI, Agentic Workflows, and Data Engineering: building LLM-powered solutions, designing agents that can reason and act across complex workflows, and making sure the right data is available to support it all. Applied to financial derivatives, these are genuinely hard problems worth solving.

What You Will Do

  • Build and ship LLM-powered features across the DerivativeEDGE platform, working directly with domain experts to translate complex financial workflows into reliable AI capabilities.
  • Design and implement agentic workflows that can reason, act, and recover gracefully across multi-step processes in a production environment.
  • Own the data engineering layer that feeds AI systems: pipelines, retrieval architectures, context design, and data quality.
  • Move fluidly between experimentation and production. You will prototype quickly, evaluate honestly, and know when something is ready to ship.
  • Contribute to the AI Lab’s broader technical direction, including evaluations, tooling, MLOps practices, and the patterns the team builds on.
  • Depending on where projects take you, work may also touch NLP, model fine-tuning, synthetic data, or reinforcement learning. Curiosity and a willingness to build in new areas are expected

About You

  • You are someone who moves with purpose. You form a view based on what you know, test it against reality, and adjust as you learn. Ambiguity is not a blocker for you; it is just the nature of early-stage problems.
  • You are hands-on by preference. Writing code, building pipelines, running experiments: that is where you do your best thinking.
  • You are a quick study. Financial derivatives is a specialized domain and we do not expect you to know it coming in. What we do expect is genuine curiosity, because the depth you develop here will directly shape the quality of what you build.
  • You stay constructive. This is a team working on consequential problems in a demanding environment. When things go sideways, you focus on the path forward. Collaboration and good energy matter.
  • You are pragmatic about tools and languages. You reach for whatever the project calls for and stay open to better options as they emerge.

Qualifications

  • Building with LLMs: prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, agents, or inference pipelines
  • Data engineering: designing and building pipelines that feed real workflows
  • ML or data science work, especially in complex or data-constrained environments
  • Working knowledge of Python and common AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, HuggingFace, LangChain, or similar)
  • MLOps or production AI experience: getting models out of notebooks and into the real world
  • Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Experience with reinforcement learning or financial derivatives is a bonus, not a baseline.

Location

  • Canada

Benefits

  • Competitive bonus, base salary, and equity compensation
  • 23 days of PTO
  • Fully remote
  • RRSP contribution at 3%
  • Competitive health benefits

The expected salary for this position is $110k - $150k CAD and is eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity. We will consider your skills, experience, and location when determining your pay.

Builds and deploys AI-powered tools and automations across retail brands, integrating systems and training teams to scale solutions that reduce manual work.

Mid Hybrid Posted 5 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

CSC Generation is the AI-native holding company re-engineering omnichannel retail. We acquire iconic brands and transform them with Genesis, our operating platform combining a Data Fabric, Automation Engine, proprietary tools, and shared services to modernize operations, elevate customer experience, and expand margins. With $1B+ in revenue across 13 brands, our portfolio includes Sur La Table, Backcountry, One Kings Lane, and others that serve as real-world innovation labs.

Reports to: VP, Performance Marketing

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) preferred

About the Role

As our AI Solutions Engineer, you will build, deploy, and scale AI-powered tools and automations across CSC Generation’s portfolio of brands. This is a hands-on role that connects AI capabilities with real business processes — you will partner directly with teams, identify where automation creates leverage, and ship solutions that stick.

You will start in performance marketing and expand into operations, creative, and logistics wherever AI can unlock efficiency and scale. Success in your first 6–12 months means production automations are live, teams across multiple departments are actively using them, and measurable reductions in manual work are documented.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and deploy AI tools and automations across brands, including image processing, feed optimization, content generation, reporting, and process streamlining.
  • Connect software systems and APIs to create integrated workflows that scale across multiple brands with minimal reconfiguration.
  • Work directly with teams across departments to understand their manual processes and build AI-powered solutions that replicate and improve them.
  • Write scripts (Python, JavaScript) and design AI workflows using platforms like Claude, ChatGPT, and workflow automation tools (n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar).
  • Cross-connect data across platforms including Google Ads, Meta Ads, Google Analytics, Google Merchant Center, content management systems, and image libraries.
  • Scale proven tools to additional brands by adapting validated solutions for cross-brand deployment.
  • Train non-technical teams on AI tools and ensure sustained adoption and productivity gains.
  • Continuously identify high-impact automation opportunities by networking across the organization and prioritizing by ROI.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience building automations, integrations, or AI-powered tools in a marketing, e-commerce, or operations environment.
  • Proven experience building autonomous AI agents and architectures, moving beyond standard, linear workflow flows (e.g., n8n, Zapier) to design stateful, dynamic AI systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, etc) nd the ability to design reliable, production-grade agentic workflows, prompts, and tool-calling schemas.
  • Comfortable writing Python and/or JavaScript to connect APIs, manage data pipelines, handle state, and build lightweight application layers for AI agents.
  • Experience with workflow automation platforms (n8n, Zapier, Make, etc) as a component of broader automated solutions.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing and e-commerce ecosystems, including platforms like Google Ads, Meta Ads, Google Analytics, or Google Merchant Center.
  • Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to independently identify business friction, propose agentic solutions, and ship without heavy direction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with n8n specifically.
  • Hands-on experience infrastructure tools like MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, LangChain, CrewAI, or similar agentic frameworks.
  • Background in retail, DTC, or multi-brand e-commerce environments.
  • Experience training or onboarding non-technical users on new tools.

Why Join

The people who do best here are builders. They take ownership, move fast, and want to see the direct impact of their work.

  • Cross-Functional Impact: Work across marketing, e-commerce, creative, logistics, and operations. Your automations will touch every part of the business.
  • AI-First Environment: This isn’t an AI experiment. Get hands-on with the most advanced AI tools in market — from workflow automation to LLM-powered systems — and build a modern skill set that sets you apart.
  • Ownership from Day One: You will set your own priorities, identify your own opportunities, and ship solutions end-to-end. High performers are quickly entrusted with broader scope across the brand portfolio.
  • Competitive Benefits: Comprehensive benefits including paid time off, RRSP match, group benefits, and employee discounts across portfolio brands.

Interview Process

  1. Recruiter Screen - 30-minute call to cover background, role fit, and logistics.
  2. Take-Home Challenge - Build a working automation flow demo (2-3 days, open book). We’re evaluating problem-solving and AI fluency, not memorized syntax.
  3. Solution Review Interview - Walk us through your solution, then handle live modifications on the call. We’ll also assess how you communicate to non-technical stakeholders.
  4. In Person Interview - Details and logistics will be arranged with your recruiter.
  5. Reference Checks - We’ll ask for professional references and conduct checks in parallel with final steps.
  6. Offer - We move fast for the right candidate.

$75,000 - $85,000 a year

  • Surface field learnings as product insights, sharing patterns and opportunities that belong in the BambooHR core product.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Experience on roadmap opportunities identified through field work.
  • Contribute to the Forward Deployed Engineering practice by applying its engagement playbooks, scoping frameworks, and handoff standards, and improving them from what each engagement teaches.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a record of shipping production software.
  • Sound judgment for when to build custom solutions and when to extend existing patterns for reuse.
  • Full-stack development experience, building and shipping independently.
  • Proficiency in designing systems, data models, and architecture, including performance and data-flow tradeoffs.
  • Track record of building and deploying AI agents and AI-powered solutions.
  • Fluency in context engineering: structuring repo and task context so agents execute reliably.
  • Confidence reading unfamiliar code and running root-cause analysis to debug it.
  • Demonstrated ability to review code for security and privacy risks: injection, data-handling, and unsafe generated output.
  • Experience with test design and test evaluation harnesses.
  • Proven ability to follow safe release practices: CI/CD, feature flags, staged rollout, and rollback.
  • Depth in writing clear technical documentation for both people and agents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including conveying customer needs, proposed solutions, and technical decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Prior consulting or client-facing delivery experience is a plus.

We’re transforming the grocery industry

At Instacart, we invite the world to share love through food because we believe everyone should have access to the food they love and more time to enjoy it together. Where others see a simple need for grocery delivery, we see exciting complexity and endless opportunity to serve the varied needs of our community. We work to deliver an essential service that customers rely on to get their groceries and household goods, while also offering safe and flexible earnings opportunities to Instacart Personal Shoppers.

Instacart has become a lifeline for millions of people, and we’re building the team to help push our shopping cart forward. If you’re ready to do the best work of your life, come join our table.

Instacart is a Flex First team

There’s no one-size fits all approach to how we do our best work. Our employees have the flexibility to choose where they do their best work—whether it’s from home, an office, or your favorite coffee shop—while staying connected and building community through regular in-person events. Learn more about our flexible approach to where we work.

Overview

Instacart’s Enterprise Solutions team is building a first-of-its-kind business: embedding directly with enterprise retail and CPG partners to design, sell, and deliver AI-powered solutions at scale. We are a small, senior, field-first pod — part startup, part consultancy — defining the playbook as we go.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you are Instacart’s hands-on technical presence inside enterprise customer environments. You will sit inside retailers’ and partners’ ecosystems, understand their infrastructure, and build agentic AI solutions on top of it. As part of your mission, you will brainstorm with partner technical leaders and collaborate on solution designs that deliver value while remaining compatible with existing environments and infrastructure. You will also collaborate closely with Instacart R&D’s team, informing platform evolution and serving as the bridge between what gets built internally and what actually works in the real world.

About the Job

  • Embed with enterprise retail customers and partners to understand their technical environments, data systems, and business workflows.
  • Design, build, and deploy AI and agentic solutions tailored to each customer’s specific infrastructure and needs, across Instacart’s full platform suite.
  • Extend, adapt, and integrate Instacart’s core AI capabilities to fit customer ecosystems,  even when those systems are undocumented or non-standard.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with R&D: participate in product reviews, flag platform gaps encountered in the field, and propose concrete changes that would make the platform work better for enterprise customers.
  • Collaborate closely with the AI Solutions Architect to translate domain requirements and architecture into working software.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during implementation engagements.

We are looking for builders who thrive in the room with customers, treat ambiguity as a puzzle, and can switch between writing code and facilitating a stakeholder conversation in the same afternoon.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a demonstrated ability to write and ship production-quality code.
  • Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs, function calling, tool use, agent frameworks, or RAG pipelines—you have shipped something agentic that real users depended on.
  • Proficiency in Python or another scripting/backend language commonly used in data-intensive environments.
  • Proven ability to integrate with messy, heterogeneous enterprise data environments — undocumented APIs, schema mismatches, auth complexity, and legacy systems that do not behave the way the docs claim.
  • Direct experience with external enterprise customers or technical stakeholders in a consulting or customer-facing capacity — earning trust in the room matters as much as writing code.
  • Strong working knowledge of retail and e-commerce system fundamentals.
  • Strong communication skills — able to translate field learnings and technical findings into actionable input for R&D and product teams.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where the process is not fully defined.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work in a forward deployed, embedded engineering, or professional services capacity.
  • Background at a startup or early-stage company where you wore multiple hats.
  • Experience in enterprise software implementation, systems integration, or solutions engineering.
  • Exposure to retail tech, e-commerce, or supply chain systems.

Operator IT Engineer (Hybrid, ATX) at Luxury Presence

Owns IT operations and automation for a Series C company, building AI-first workflows to reduce manual tickets and manage identity, access, and endpoint management across the organization.

Mid Hybrid Posted 12 days ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Luxury Presence is building the AI growth platform for real estate. Backed by Bessemer Venture Partners and other top investors, we’re a Series C company that has hit $100M in annual recurring revenue. More than 90,000 real estate professionals, including over 30% of the WSJ Real Trends top 100 agents in the United States, use us to run and grow their business.

Why This Role Matters

Our IT team runs lean by design: a Director of IT, an Onsite IT Support Specialist, and this role. That means every system we run has to work harder than it would at a bigger company, and the tools we use to run it have to be smarter, not just more numerous.

This isn’t a keep-the-lights-on IT job. You’ll own our AI-first transformation end to end, taking on the tools, workflows, and systems that let a two-to-three person team support a company our size without drowning in manual tickets. You’ll build the automation, own the identity and access architecture, and make sure every employee has what they need to do their job from day one.

You must be AI-forward. If you don’t already reach for an AI tool before you reach for a spreadsheet, this isn’t the right seat.

What You’ll Own

AI-First Help Desk & Automation

  • Take full ownership of Serval, driving ticket deflection from manual resolution toward AI-assisted and self-service resolution.

  • Evaluate and pilot Serval Journeys (or equivalent tooling) to automate onboarding and offboarding provisioning workflows.

  • Build and maintain automations across Claude, Notion, and Slackbot that cut manual IT work wherever it shows up.

Identity, Access & Directory Management

  • Own provisioning and de-provisioning across our SaaS stack, ensuring access is granted and revoked accurately and on time.

  • Lead the Rippling integration for directory sync, using it to reliably determine manager, title, and department for every employee, so the right tech stack reaches the right person automatically.

  • Administer Google Workspace end to end: user lifecycle, groups, security settings, and day-to-day support.

Endpoint & Device Management

  • Administer Iru MDM (formerly Kandji) across macOS, iPadOS, and Windows, with EDR enabled and enforced fleet-wide.

  • Own procurement and asset lifecycle management: hardware purchasing, deployment, tracking, and retirement.

Onboarding, Support & Documentation

  • Drive day-one readiness for every new hire: all required tools and access provisioned and working before their start date.

  • Step in on help desk tickets directly to back up the Onsite IT Support Specialist during peak load or time off.

  • Document everything. Own and build out our IT process documentation in Notion/Serval so institutional knowledge doesn’t live in one person’s head.

Partnership

  • Work in close daily collaboration with the Director of IT and the Onsite IT Support Specialist as a tightly coordinated three-person team.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • 5-10 years in IT engineering, systems administration, or a similar hands-on IT role.

  • Deep experience with Google Workspace administration at the org level.

  • Experience managing an MDM platform (Kandji, Jamf, Intune, or similar) across multiple operating systems, with EDR.

  • Track record of building automations that replace manual work — you reach for code or no-code tools to do it.

Mindset

  • You operate with extreme ownership. You take projects from start to finish without needing much guidance, and you don’t wait to be told what’s next.

  • You bring a security mindset to identity, access, and device management.

  • You write clearly. Documentation isn’t an afterthought, it’s part of how you work.

  • You’re comfortable being one of three people responsible for IT at an entire company, and you thrive on that kind of scope.

Bonus

  • Experience with Serval, or comparable AI-powered IT support/automation platforms.

  • Hands-on experience with Rippling, Deel, or similar HRIS platforms for provisioning and directory data.

  • Scripting or automation experience (Bash, Python, PowerShell, n8n, Zapier, or similar).

  • Prior exposure to Claude, ChatGPT, or other AI tools used operationally, not just casually.

$100,000 - $120,000 a year

  • Base salary: $100,000 - $120,000
  • Comprehensive benefits

This is a hybrid role based in Austin, TX, requiring 2-3 days per week onsite.
