As a Patient Educator, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to empower patients and caregivers navigating the challenges of Parkinson’s Disease Psychosis (PDP). In this vital role, you’ll deliver compassionate, clear, and actionable disease state education—helping individuals understand their condition and explore treatment options, including NUPLAZID®. You’ll serve as a trusted guide during early patient engagement, bridging the gap between diagnosis and ongoing support. By ensuring a smooth transition to ACADIA Connect and Patient Access Managers (PAMs), you’ll help patients access the resources they need for coverage, affordability, and long-term treatment adherence.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Caregiver Support

  • Deliver pre-prescription (pre-NBRx) disease state education to patients and caregivers via small group meetings and presentations to advocacy groups, community-based organizations, and professional societies.
  • Provide information regarding product efficacy, safety, and access support available through ACADIA Connect to patients and/or caregivers who have opted in through various programs.
  • Offer approved educational resources helping patients and caregivers understand their disease and empower them to talk to their doctor about PDP.
  • Distribute approved educational materials to enhance patient and caregiver awareness of PDP and potential treatment with NUPLAZID®.
  • Build trusting relationships to ensure patients and caregivers feel supported throughout their journey.

Access & Coverage Coordination

  • Collaborate with Patient Access Managers (PAMs) to address patient or caregiver questions related to coverage, reimbursement, and affordability.
  • Facilitate the referral and transition process for patients into ACADIA Connect for comprehensive access assistance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner primarily with Neurology Sales Specialists and Long-Term Care Sales Specialists to ensure community-based healthcare providers are aware of Patient Educator resource provided by ACADIA.
  • Respond to inquiries generated through patient/caregivers, key customers, community organizations, and/or advocacy events.
  • Collaborate with community-based organizations, advocacy organizations, and professional societies to support patient and caregiver education programs.

Education and Program Enhancement

  • Provide feedback and insights to the marketing team to improve patient engagement and educational initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, social work, psychology, or a related healthcare field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in pharma with preferred candidates having experience in patient education, patient navigation, advocacy, or pharmaceutical patient support services.
  • Knowledge of neurology, psychiatry, or movement disorders preferred, experience with Parkinson’s Disease or PDP strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to build empathetic and supportive relationships with patients and caregivers.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
  • Experience collaborating across marketing, patient support services, advocacy, and field-based teams.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards for patient-facing pharmaceutical roles.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements, including driving and overnight stays; air travel as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedule or business needs.

Must reside within the territory (or within 30 miles of its border) and, depending on territory needs, within reasonable proximity to a major airport. Requires eligibility to drive a company vehicle and ability to travel independently by air. Travel may be up to 75% of the time, including occasional after-hours work based on business needs.

Position Summary

The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Rare Disease - West serves as a key scientific resource within Medical Affairs, building trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), researchers, and advocacy organizations. This field-based role is responsible for facilitating scientific exchange, advancing medical education, and providing strategic insights that support Acadia’s rare disease portfolio. The Senior MSL partners cross-functionally to deliver accurate, balanced scientific information while helping advance patient-focused research and therapeutic innovation. This field-based role is responsible for the West region, with coverage spanning Northern California, Oregon, and Washington, including major academic and community healthcare centers throughout the territory. Candidates may reside anywhere within the assigned region and must be able to travel up to 75%.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identifies and develops relationships with national and regional medical and scientific thought leaders, patient advocacy groups, and centers of excellence consistent with the strategy and objectives of Acadia’s Medical Affairs Development.
  • Engages national and regional thought leaders to align interests, discuss research and medical information, and participate in scientific exchange and education about current and emerging therapies.
  • Provides research trial site support and investigator-initiated research proposal cultivation and facilitation.
  • Develops and maintains scientific, clinical and therapeutic expertise for Acadia’s portfolio.
  • Cross-functionally collaborates, following all compliance guidelines, with regional field leadership partners including Regional Business Leaders (RBL) and Account  Business Managers (ABMs).

Position Overview

The Lead Nurse is responsible for providing clinical leadership, oversight, and support for FreedomCare’s Colorado Care Management Team. This role supervises Care Managers while ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant, and person-centered clinical services.

The Lead Nurse partners closely with Operations, Compliance, Quality, and cross-functional teams to oversee clinical workflows, documentation, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives. This role serves as the primary clinical resource for Colorado, supporting Care Managers in delivering exceptional patient care while ensuring adherence to Colorado Medicaid requirements, FreedomCare policies, and industry best practices.

The Lead Nurse plays a key role in developing clinical processes, improving operational efficiency, supporting team development, and promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Every Day You Will:

Clinical Leadership

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and clinical guidance to the Colorado Care Management team.
  • Serve as the primary clinical subject matter expert (SME) for Colorado operations.
  • Support Care Managers with complex clinical cases, escalations, and changes in participant condition.
  • Review and approve care plans to ensure they accurately reflect participant needs, authorizations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist Operations leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating new clinical programs and initiatives.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Colorado Medicaid regulations, contractual requirements, and FreedomCare clinical policies by overseeing caregiver qualifications and training records, service authorizations, care plan implementation, documentation standards, and critical incident reporting.
  • Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Conduct routine chart audits and documentation reviews to maintain audit readiness.
  • Identify compliance risks, documentation gaps, and workflow improvement opportunities while implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Participate in internal audits, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory reviews.
  • Support investigation and follow-up of incidents, hospitalizations, complaints, and changes in participant condition.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, coach, and develop Care Managers through regular feedback, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new clinical team members.

Operational Excellence

  • Support caregiver oversight in collaboration with Care Managers.
  • Monitor clinical capacity and assist in workload distribution to ensure timely patient services.

Education and Experience

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (Compact licensure to serve multiple states or willingness to obtain strongly preferred).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years clinical nursing experience working with elders and/or adults with disabilities in home- and community-based settings (HCBS), long-term services and supports (LTSS), case management, or chronic disease management.
  • 2+ years in a clinical leadership, supervisory, or program management role, preferably within Medicaid-funded programs.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience developing, writing, or implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or similar policies, workflows, or clinical process documentation.

Qualifications

Experience supporting patients and caregivers in a homecare environment including caregiver coaching, care plan development, and long-term services coordination.

  • Strong regulatory compliance orientation with the ability to translate state requirements into internal workflows and training.
  • Experience serving as a subject-matter expert, escalation point, or clinical resource for staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Experience using a CRM (Salesforce is a plus)

Position Overview

The Lead Nurse is responsible for providing clinical leadership, oversight, and support for FreedomCare’s Colorado Care Management Team. This role supervises Care Managers while ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant, and person-centered clinical services.

The Lead Nurse partners closely with Operations, Compliance, Quality, and cross-functional teams to oversee clinical workflows, documentation, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives. This role serves as the primary clinical resource for Colorado, supporting Care Managers in delivering exceptional patient care while ensuring adherence to Colorado Medicaid requirements, FreedomCare policies, and industry best practices.

The Lead Nurse plays a key role in developing clinical processes, improving operational efficiency, supporting team development, and promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Every Day You Will:

Clinical Leadership

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and clinical guidance to the Colorado Care Management team.
  • Serve as the primary clinical subject matter expert (SME) for Colorado operations.
  • Support Care Managers with complex clinical cases, escalations, and changes in participant condition.
  • Review and approve care plans to ensure they accurately reflect participant needs, authorizations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist Operations leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating new clinical programs and initiatives.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Colorado Medicaid regulations, contractual requirements, and FreedomCare clinical policies by overseeing caregiver qualifications and training records, service authorizations, care plan implementation, documentation standards, and critical incident reporting.
  • Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Conduct routine chart audits and documentation reviews to maintain audit readiness.
  • Identify compliance risks, documentation gaps, and workflow improvement opportunities while implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Participate in internal audits, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory reviews.
  • Support investigation and follow-up of incidents, hospitalizations, complaints, and changes in participant condition.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, coach, and develop Care Managers through regular feedback, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new clinical team members.
  • Promote consistent clinical practices through education, competency development, and ongoing coaching.

Operational Excellence

  • Monitor day-to-day clinical operations by analyzing workflows, productivity, and quality metrics.
  • Develop and improve clinical workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices.
  • Support the implementation of new clinical programs, operational initiatives, and regulatory changes while ensuring successful adoption by the Care Management team.
  • Partner with Operations, Compliance, and other departments and external vendors to improve clinical operations and patient outcomes.
  • Support caregiver oversight in collaboration with Care Managers.
  • Monitor clinical capacity and assist in workload distribution to ensure timely patient services.

Education and Experience

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (Compact licensure to serve multiple states or willingness to obtain strongly preferred).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years clinical nursing experience working with elders and/or adults with disabilities in home- and community-based settings (HCBS), long-term services and supports (LTSS), case management, or chronic disease management.
  • 2+ years in a clinical leadership, supervisory, or program management role, preferably within Medicaid-funded programs.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience developing, writing, or implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or similar policies, workflows, or clinical process documentation.

Qualifications

Experience supporting patients and caregivers in a homecare environment including caregiver coaching, care plan development, and long-term services coordination.

  • Strong regulatory compliance orientation with the ability to translate state requirements into internal workflows and training.
  • Experience serving as a subject-matter expert, escalation point, or clinical resource for staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Experience using a CRM (Salesforce is a plus)
  • Self-motivated

The Opportunity:

The Clinical Investigator is responsible for the retrospective review of paid claims and analysis of claims data to identify provider fraud, waste or abuse. The Clinical Investigator will conduct in-depth analysis, peer analysis trend analysis and statistical analysis to identify providers whose utilization patterns are outside of the expected norm from their peers in their assigned markets. They will have full responsibility for all contractual obligations for their assigned clients related to fraud, waste or abuse. The Clinical Investigator is responsible for the professional relationship with assigned clients related to fraud, waste and abuse and is responsible for all aspects of the investigative process from identification, initiation, completion and referral of the investigation as applicable. The Clinical Investigator is responsible for working with providers to educate, impose corrective action and to reach case resolution. The Investigator works closely with clients, managed care organizations, state agencies and law enforcement related to their investigations as required.

How you will contribute:  

  • Responsible for clinical interpretation of dental radiographs.

  • Independently interpret utilization reports to detect patterns and potential areas of fraud, waste or abuse.

  • Query data to conduct comprehensive drill down data analysis to detect patterns and trends of under and over utilization.

  • Investigate provider and member fraud and abuse in assigned markets.

  • Manage multiple clients and associated provider networks related to fraud, waste and abuse investigation.

  • Work with and in consultation with DentaQuest Dental Directors during the investigative process to assure accurate and defensible clinical decisions.

  • Responsible for the accuracy of all investigative decisions and that the decisions are clinically sound,  supported by appropriate and documented authority and defensible.

  • Assure all audit decisions are in compliance with Medicare regulations, State Medicaid Guidelines, DentaQuest Office Reference Manual and plan benefit limitations.

  • Assist management in overpayment negotiations with providers related to the results and findings of an investigation.

  • Responsible for the implementation and updating of all client processes related to Fraud, Waste and Abuse.

  • Maintain the professional relationship with assigned client contacts related to fraud, waste and abuse investigation.

  • Responsible for all investigation and client related communications to providers for provision of investigative facts and findings.

  • Responsible for all client facing meetings related to fraud, waste and abuse.

  • Track all investigative cases in accurate timeline format in internal fraud tracking database.

  • Have the ability to independently manage workflow to meet business needs, assure contractual obligations for all clients are met and to meet departmental metrics.

  • Responsible for the development of interdepartmental relationships to assure all issues related to fraud, waste or abuse are identified and appropriately investigated.
