Senior Director, Customer Operations
Who we are
Jellyvision is redefining how organizations experience benefits by bringing everything together in one modern, intelligent home. With ALEX Home, we combine our award-winning ALEX® decision support with a flexible benefits administration platform, giving employers and employees a simpler, smarter way to manage benefits year-round.
Our mission is to help organizations reduce complexity, lighten administrative burden, and drive real employee understanding and utilization without forcing rip-and-replace decisions. We meet teams where they are today and give them a clear path to what’s next.
The people behind Jellyvision are creative problem solvers who care deeply about getting it right. We debate ideas, give real feedback, and sweat the details because those details are what turn complicated problems into great experiences for real humans.
We’re a human-first company that trusts smart people to do great work. We value curiosity, kindness, and willingness to try new things, learn fast, and try again. You won’t just show up to do a job, you’ll help build what’s next, solve real problems, and have some fun doing it.
How you’ll help
We’re looking for a Senior Director of Customer Operations to lead the team responsible for bringing our products to life for customers. You’ll set the strategy, guide a team of leaders, and help us continuously improve how we onboard, implement, and support customers across our growing portfolio of products.
This is an exciting moment for the team. In addition to our core ALEX product, you’ll help shape and scale implementation operations for two newer offerings: ALEX Home and our benefits administration platform. You’ll play a key role in determining how we grow, where we invest, and what it takes to deliver a consistently great experience as our business evolves.
You’ll lead a talented group of directors and the teams they support, creating the structure, clarity, and alignment needed to do great work at scale. You’ll oversee capacity planning across our products, balancing internal resources with vendor and broker partnerships as we grow. And you’ll partner closely with leaders across Jellyvision to turn big ideas into scalable ways of working that improve experiences for both our customers and our teams.
What you’ll do to be successful
1.) Lead a team that does great work
Lead a group of talented directors and support them in leading their own teams across multiple product lines. Your focus will be creating clarity, removing obstacles, and helping people do their best work and achieve strong results.
2.) Build systems that scale
As our products and customer base grow, the way we work needs to grow with them. You’ll use data, customer feedback, and team insights to identify opportunities for improvement and lead initiatives that make our operations more effective, efficient, and scalable.
3.) Manage customer implementations across all product lines
You’ll own implementation delivery across our product portfolio, helping ensure customers have a smooth, successful experience from kickoff through launch.
4.) Bring people together to solve problems
Some of the most important work in this role happens through partnership.

Bellwether is a national nonprofit that exists to transform education to ensure students furthest from opportunity achieve outcomes that lead to fulfilling lives and flourishing communities. We work hand in hand with education leaders and organizations to accelerate their impact, inform and influence policy and program design, and share what we learn along the way.
We are a remote-first team, and our work is national in scope, so our flexible working style allows our professionals to work where they have built their lives, which means Bellwether can hire the best person for each role, regardless of geography. This role can be based anywhere in the United States. Up to 15% travel may be required.
As Bellwether implements our new strategic plan, we will reimagine how we work, embrace emerging technologies, evolve our service offerings, and embed the processes and mindsets for learning across the organization. A key part of this transformation is harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance how we operate, collaborate, and deliver value. Bellwether sees AI not just as a tool for efficiency, but also a strategic lever for insight generation, innovation, and rethinking how we deliver impact for the education sector.
WHY AI MATTERS AT BELLWETHER
AI is reshaping the education landscape and how organizations such as Bellwether can make a difference for the partners we support and, ultimately, the students, families, and communities we aim to serve. For us, AI represents an opportunity to:
THE ROLE
This is a leadership role on Bellwether’s Central Support (CS) Team that balances strategic direction with hands-on execution. We anticipate the Senior Director will function similarly to a product manager with change management depth and technical range. This role is right for someone who can help shape the vision, run the roadmap, and build the work. Because this role does not come with a dedicated technical team, execution will occur through a mix of individual work, contracted support, and close partnership with other Central Support roles, depending on the project’s requirements.
Here’s how we expect this role to spend its time:
This role reports directly to Bellwether’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). It works in close partnership with the Senior Director of Enterprise Operations, who ensures what gets built can be successfully scaled and sustained across the organization. The role is a member of the internal AI Leadership Team and the AI Skunkworks team (the “Skunks,” the most advanced AI practitioners currently at Bellwether, holding a 20% time allocation), as well as the Central Support Leadership Team. Other AI-fluent team members will continue to contribute in a supporting capacity.
WHO YOU ARE
The right person for this role has spent a combination of 8+ years owning both strategy and execution in digital transformation, workflow redesign, or operations. You have hands-on AI and automation experience, and you have designed tools that bring lasting change. You think in systems, translate fluently from executive strategy to hands-on detail, and have built authentic adoption in cultures where enthusiasm was uneven and pushback was genuine. You’re not a pure technologist who needs a team to execute, a strategist who doesn’t build, or an AI evangelist without implementation depth: you lead through influence, not mandate.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
You will develop and own a sequenced roadmap grounded in what previous discovery has surfaced: prioritizing what Bellwether can absorb, sequencing what to build first, and saying no to what would distract from durable progress. You are the COO’s primary partner on this work, which means translating strategic intent into a plan that the organization can follow and the operations team can sustain.
Bellwether has digital transformation and AI enthusiasts, skeptics, and people who are somewhere in between. This role must earn trust from all of them by demonstrating value before asking for adoption, listening before prescribing, and creating space for people to learn without letting that become an indefinite delay.
This is a hands-on role. You will design workflow prototypes, configure tools, write automations, and test integrations, modeling what excellent digital practice looks like in day-to-day work. Every system you build must be operable by the people who use it.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE AT 12 MONTHS
Competitive candidates for this role will demonstrate a passion for our work and content expertise. To be successful, candidates must have strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills. They should also possess the following:
Required
Preferred
The base salary range for incoming team members in this role is $170,250-$199,625 annually, with eligibility for an annual performance bonus targeted at $19,900 based on individual and organizational success (bonus target may vary based on final salary). While the final offer amount will be determined by multiple factors — including previous experience and content knowledge — and may vary from the stated range, Bellwether is committed to transparency, and all offers align with our compensation philosophy.
Bellwether provides competitive compensation and an attractive benefits package that includes a performance bonus based on individual and firm success, health care coverage, and a 401(k) plan with matching employer contributions.
Use your online application — a custom letter of interest and a current resume — to show us you have the skills listed here or why the skills you have are the ones we need. Be sure to highlight or walk us through a process or system you have rebuilt. You should also use your application materials to show how your background and experience align with Bellwether’s mission. Please address your letter of interest to DaWana Williamson, Senior Partner and Chief Operating Officer.
Note: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
Bellwether is committed to providing equal opportunities. It is our policy to ensure that all individuals with whom we are in contact are not discriminated against based on age, race, ethnicity, color, disability, gender identity, gender expression, political viewpoint, marital status, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, or veteran status. Further, as described above, Bellwether is committed to building a diverse team and strongly encourages individuals from all backgrounds to apply.
Our team may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of our hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, summarizing interviews, or assessing responses. These tools help our teams work efficiently, but they never replace human judgment. Every hiring decision is ultimately made by our team. If you have questions about how we process candidate data, please reach out to us.

Senior Director, Digital Operations & AI
Location: Remote

Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt
---
Bellwether is a national nonprofit that exists to transform education to ensure students furthest from opportunity achieve outcomes that lead to fulfilling lives and flourishing communities.

Who you are:
A startup person: You aren’t driven by titles or hierarchy, and prefer efficiency to excess process. You don’t need or expect to have a lot of guidance but you enjoy working in a fast-paced team. There is plenty of important work and plenty of good opportunities with organizations like that.
Motivated: You are self-motivated. You bring an enthusiasm to the team, and imbue a sense of passion that goes beyond clocking in and clocking out. This isn’t about a fake or arbitrary “pieces of flair” mentality or lack of work-life balance! It is about being a part of the vision and feeling a part of reaching team goals.
A team-player: Oklo genuinely is a team. We aren’t about taking credit for ourselves, and we aren’t about pushing blame to others. We do incredible things because we work as a team.
An excellent communicator: We need a person who is not only technically competent but also a clear and upbeat communicator.
Creative: Being creative means that when things fall outside clear scopes or processes or problems arise without clear solutions, you are able to identify it as well as invent ways to solve a problem or fill a need without micromanagement. The successful person in this job will not only be creative, but also enjoy being creative and solving open-ended problems which may change day-by-day.
Detail-oriented: This focus is a big part of excellence, consistency, and quality. Excellent grammar and spelling matter for both good communication as well as the image of the company that we put forward.
About Oklo travel requirements:
Oklo requires remote employees to travel to headquarters (Santa Clara, CA) twice a quarter annually, based on business or team needs, including attendance at team meetings, off-sites, and other company events or gatherings.

Collaboration: We go further, together. We bring diverse perspectives, listen actively, and build trust through transparency and respect. We work across disciplines, sharing ownership to turn complex challenges into shared successes.
Humility: We are team players who act for the good of the company and for the world. We are focused on our mission, not personal recognition.
Ownership: We take pride in what we do and how we do it. We are proactive in finding solutions and see tasks through to completion. We are committed to delivering on our promises to provide clean, reliable, and affordable energy.
